Ali Coleman is a New York City–based DJ, producer, and cultural organizer with over 30 years of professional experience shaping dance floors and community spaces through deep, soulful, and globally influenced house music. His relationship with DJ culture began in 1979, rooted in early disco,
block parties, and club spaces that centered music as a form of release, resistance, and connection.
As a DJ and producer, Ali’s work blends classic house foundations with forward- facing selections, always mixed with patience, intention, and respect for the arc of the dance floor. His performances span clubs, festivals, cultural institutions, and public spaces, adapting seamlessly across contexts while maintaining musical integrity.
Ali is the founder of Voice of Voice NYC, Let’s Dance Brooklyn, and Ener-Chi Soundz, and has played a longstanding role in NYC’s nightlife advocacy ecosystem through initiatives such as the House Coalition and Dance Parade. His work extends beyond performance into cultural organizing, event curation, and advocacy for nightlife as a critical component of urban culture.
